As You Wish by Cary Elwes (audio) 5 ★♥ 🌟
The Man in Black, The Dread Pirate Roberts…. oh no. I mean Farm Boy, Wesley…. oh no no no…. Cary. Cary Elwes. Yes, that’s it. That’s his name. Well, whatever Cary is acting as, he’s a funny guy. But I still love him the most as his character(s) in The Princess Bride.
Being a fan was one of the reasons I bought the audio book on iTunes when it first came out (and has been sitting on my To-Be-Read list since). The other Reason why I bought the audio, was because all the other The Princess Bride cast members who also narrated with Cary Elwes.
The narrators… Cary Elwes, Rob Reiner, Christopher Guest, Carol Kane, Norman Lear (with the his own Epilogue), Wallace Shaw, Robin Wright, Fred Savage, and Billy Crystal (and Billy sounded like the only one doing the narration via telephone).
And they all did a great job talking about their experience with making the movie. And even Cary Elwes’s narration was good because of all the accents he used. They were funny.
The audio is 7 hours, so I borrowed the kindle from my library to see if Cary (or iTunes) gypped me with an abridged audio. Nope. Cary read everything that was in his book. And the others sort of gave the same commentary on the audio as they did in the book. The only added bonus with the book is pictures from the movie and cast members, and Cary’s acknowledgement. I still think the audio was so much better. Definitely a keeper and even 5 stars. 🌟
As a whole, Cary’s book was nice. As a fan of the movie, The Princess Bride, this tribute was good.
