A Horrific Friday, October 16th

TCM (Turner Classic Movies network channel) has little monthly things going on. This month they’re calling October the “Schocktober”. And every Friday this month, they have a theme. And this week’s theme is “Scary Kids.”

Now I am not a horror fan. I haven’t read any Stephen King books (yet, but I’ll be brave and read some soon). But I have read some R. L. Stine and Christopher Pike Young Adult books. Classics. I recommend The Midnight Club by Pike. And The New Girl by Stine (the first book of the Fear Street original series)

Some possibles for this weekend (and maybe tonight)…

Rereads:

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (1981) by Alvin Schwartz (Author), Stephen Gammell (Illustrator). This book has some good spooky stories. But it isn’t the same without Stephen’s illustrations.
Bunnicula (1979) A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery by Deborah Howe and James Howe.

To-Be-Read:

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (Inspired by Siobhan Dowd). The story and graphics looks great.
