Wine Book Tag

I was tagged Orang-utan Librarian in January. Sorry it’s taken me this long to post this. Thanks for the tag. I do recommend checking out her blog. I’ll definitely be drinking a glass of wine (or two) while I write this too.

The Questions:

1) Box Wine – a book that people will judge you for liking but you like it anyway!

6297

I’m addicted to those $1.99 kindle books. Just as I admit I have had some of this boxed wine… ages ago that is.

I’m talking about the cheap books that have the most predictable storyline there is. But I’ve been able to restrain myself from buying those lately thank goodness. Well except for the last book (You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me by Sarra Manning), but that was all thanks to Elusive’s book review.

Also those very predictable romance books that I can read within a few days. I call them my Pillow Talk Romances because the story has so much fluff that it’s like a pillow – just a little thing filled with cotton, or if it’s a good one then it’s a memory foam pillow. Plus it’s the sort that I would read at night time.

2) Organic Wine – a book that doesn’t have any added crap in it and is just written perfectly.

Pride and Prejudice Elizabeth Bennet & Mr Darcy

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. 5★♥ No matter how many times I reread this book I just love every bit of it.

3) Gluehwein – a really spicy, wintry read.

Heroes Are My Weakness Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Heroes Are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. 5★♥

The spice? It’s a Susan Elizabeth Phillips romance and this book has lots of swoon worthy stuff IMO. The wintry? It’s set during the winter with lots of snow and blizzards. And the cover has a white snow backdrop with the woman wearing wintry clothes too.

4) Chateau Ste Michelle Sauvignon Blanc – a really sharp and aggressive read that you couldn’t put down!

Chateau Ste Michelle

Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern 5★♥ Loved the movie (Love, Rosie) too!!! I really couldn’t put this book down. Loved it.

5) Chateau Ste Michelle Pinot Noir – a book you didn’t expect much from but ended up getting blown away!

CSM_btl_cv_pg-1400_store_kindlephoto-73448086

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. 5★♥ I liked the movie before watching this. I thought the film was good. Not the best sci-fi film ever though. When I started to read this book I thought it was a little on the slow side. Then someone suggested that I try reading it along with the audiobook by Stephen Fry. I was blown away that’s for sure! Stephen was great and I highly recommend reading it with him!

6) Chateau Ste Michelle Chardonnay – a good summer read that was super-zesty?

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen 5★♥ This has the summer heat. And I just loved this book!

Or

There’s Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen also. This book has the super-zesty romance where as the other book by Sarah was more based on the plot, which was why Lost Lake is my favorite by Sarah.

Both these books are good and I highly recommend picking up a book by Sarah Addison Allen.

7) Chateau Ste Michelle Rose – a book that has a little bit of everything in it.

Chateau Ste Michelle

The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo. 5★♥ My Review. Oh how do I describe this book without giving away spoilers?! There’s a lot going on in this book. When I read the blurb I thought of the movie The Corpse Bride by Tim Burton. But this book has so much more going on! Highly recommend.

8) Shiraz – A full-bodied book that is dark and juicy.

Neverwhere Neil Gaiman

It’s a tie between these two books:

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. 5★♥ It’s dark and the plot and writing was so good that I read it through pretty quickly. If you haven’t read a Neil Gaiman book, do so! Loved this book!

The Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko. I watched this movie and the sequel before reading this book and Day Watch, so I already knew what’s what. There are more books (5 total in series) to come and I’m looking forward to reading them. This has the Light Supernatural World Vs. The Dark. It is also about destiny.

9) Chateau Ste Michelle Merlot – a smooth easy read with a soft finish.

Chateau Ste Michelle

Girl Before a Mirror by Liza Palmer. 5★♥

My Review.

Loved this book! The writing and plot did go through pretty smoothly.

10) Champagne – Your Favourite Book.

The Book Thief Markus Zusak

For my current mood because drinking champagne all depends on my mood for that drink isn’t my favorite, it’s more for special occasions IMO.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. 5★♥♥♥ I read this after the second time I saw the movie. I had a book hangover for months!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. 5★♥ Because I’m dying to see the movie!

I Tag

I’m tagging all the Michelle’s out there because of this wine: Chateau Ste Michelle Wines.

Ladies we actually have some good wine here with our name on it. 🙂
