TBR Tuesday

Those new and “shiny” books are too tempting to not start reading them straight away. Especially when one is in a bit of a reading slump.

Currently Started Reading a New Book

Zodiac Legacy - Convergence by Stan Lee

From yesterday’s post, I mentioned that I recently bought two novels by Stan Lee (DC comic The Real Stan Lee). They are books 1 & 2 of The Zodiac Legacy (Convergence and The Dragon’s Return). I’ve already begun reading book 1: Convergence and am liking it. The main character’s name is Steven Lee. I told my my Gramps and he asked if it was Steven instead of Stan Lee. I said yes and he replied that that’s Ego for you. But Stan Lee is an old guy so I’ll let that Ego slide. It’s not that the old guys are all have such egos. It’s because the main character refers to people assuming that with a last name like Lee we automatically assume that they have some sort of Asian Heritage.

Snoopy reading

But while I get into this Young Adult (or even younger because I forgot or don’t exactly know how old these characters are supposed to be)….anyway, while I’m working on this book I am more determined than ever to finish working on the books I started reading this year. That means I’ll be reading 4 books at the same time this month (well, not the exact same time).

So here’s all of the books I’m Currently Reading:

Pride And Prejudice Unabridged Jane Austen

With these first two books, I have about 2+ hours per book left to read. And I’m really hoping to finishing these very soon because I’ve apparently only read 6 books this year (4 of them during January)! So much for trying to read 65 books this year.

Castle Rackrent - Maria Edgeworth

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. 71% rereading with audiobook.
➡ Castle Rackrent by Maria Edgeworth. 54% read.

And these two books I just barely started reading.

➡ First Frost (Waverley Family, #2) by Sarah Addison Allen. Still 11% read from last month.
The Zodiac Legacy: Convergence (Zodiac #1) by Stan Lee, Stuart Moore and art by Andie Tong. Chapter 2 and 4% read.

You’re probably curious as to how I could be reading so many books at once. Well it helps when the authors have different writing styles. It also helps when the book’s plot and genres are a bit different than the other.

I think I’ve read up to 6 books at a time. That’s my maximum number and one or more of the books are nearly finished.

How many books do read at once? What’s your limit?

  1. That’s a fun mixed bag of books you’ve got going there. Usually I only read one book at a time, but recently I found myself reading four: one paperback, one I’m reading with a friend, one audiobook, and one book of poetry.

  2. I’m usually a one book a time kind of guy, but university has ruined that for me this year. So far every month this year I’ve had two big fantasies on the go that I need to return to but just never pick up because I get distracted by another book, two text books, whatever set book for uni there is that month, a classic, and then another quick read novel most weeks.

    1. I wish I could do that. I used to limit myself to one book at a time and then I read the book “Cold Mountain” 12 years ago and was bored so I allowed myself to read other books while reading Cold Mountain. I haven’t finished that book yet and I now have this habit of reading more than 1 book now

    2. I cannot reada boring book. If I’m bored with it, I let it go. Lol. I feel like the purpose of a book is to take me where I do not go in real life or make me feel what I normally don’t. I understand reading multiples at a time, I just cannot. My mind won’t let me. 🙂
