Wazzup Wednesday’s

A Wednesday post of a few things I liked throughout the week.

Wazzup Tori Amos

BFP20 - Tori Amos

On January 22, 2016, Tori Amos Tweeted that she will be remastering her 3rd album, Boys For Pele, for it’s 20th Anniversary. And in another tweet to go along with that announcement, added this statement:

“The newly #remastered #BoysForPele, released later this year, will include unreleased material + #bsides, club #remixes, & more. 🌟🎹🎉 #BFP20

Now I don’t think she’s forgotten about promising this remastered edition. She’s had posts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. But if you’ve been under a rock or oblivious of these media stuff like I have, then this is new. I didn’t realize that this was the 20th anniversary until this post on Tori’s Facebook page. In that post she reposted @NickKBlamo about how he snagged a Boys For Pele promo window board.

So now it’s been almost 3 months since the anniversary and I’m greatly anticipating these unreleased material for Boys For Pele. In the meantime, here’s a video from MTV’s Unplugged concert in 1996.

Wazzup Action Movies & Superheroes?

Deadpool movie poster

This year there is 8 Superhero movies that I know of that is being released in 2016 (2 of are already in theaters, 6 of them are Marvel or DC Comics).

That’s an awful lot to keep track of for this year, not to mention the other big movies that are being released. So here’s a list of those Superhero movies and others that have and will be released this year. (Plus I made another list on IMDb.com)

The DC Comics movies are:

  • Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice
  • Suicide Squad

Marvel movies are:

  • Deadpool
  • Captain America: Civil War
  • X-Men: Apocalypse
  • Doctor Strange

Other action movies they have to compete with:

  • Godzilla Resurgence
  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
  • Independence Day: Resurgence
  • Jason Bourne
  • Star Trek Beyond
  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Warcraft
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
  • The Huntsman: Winter’s War

Ok. That’s a lot of movies right? I thought I’d make this list just to remember who’s who in these superhero movies this year and plus all those other movies too.

Also last month I made a post with 6 movies and their movie trailers. I’ll be making another 6 movies I’m looking forward to seeing post for next week.

Wazzup Old German Films?

TCM German Cinema - Caligari to Hitler

Cabinet of Dr Caligari 1919

Tonight and the next 2 Wednesday nights, TCM channel is airing a special theme called From (Dr.) Caligari to Hitler: German Cinema in the Weimar Era.

Tonight I watched a little of a 1919 Silent Film called The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It looked like a good “horror” film. It’s acknowledge as the first German Expressionist Film. Then I recorded a 2014  documentary, From Galigari to Hitler: German Cinema in the Age of the Masses. And right now I am also recording a Silent “Horror” Film from 1922 called Nosferatu.

I definitely recommend watching The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Noferatu. Both great movies.
