Oh how things fly by when you’re not paying attention. I thought I’d get caught up with all you lovely people who have left comments on my blog. I started that Friday night and it’s now Monday night. This weekend has flown by quick. Heck this year is going by quick.
500?! Wow! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Continue reading “Monday Mayhem and 500 Followers”
Silent Sunday Nights
TCM channel shows Silent Films for their Silent Sunday Nights (and then a foreign film for their Imports). Tonight they were showing a 1932 Chinese film directed by Yu Sun called Wild Rose. It also is Yan Jin‘s first film role. This looks like a decent silent film, but since we had two things being recorded, plus the Anaheim Ducks hockey game, I could only watch the end of this film. For a Silent Film in 1932, Gramps says it depends all upon where in China it was filmed at, the warlords who later became communists and the Nationalist government. We both noticed that this movie plays in a lot with politics.
Now here is my Silent Sunday Nights and what I have been up to.
400. Wow. I’m just amazed with this amount of attention I have received here. I started blogging in October with little expectations, just wanting a place to write my thoughts and reviews as well as meet other bloggers. I’m just really blown away with this… well more a lose for words more like. I am super thankful for all those people that are following me. The number is still growing and it’s made me so happy this weekend.
Thank you thank you thank you. And thank you to all who have liked my posts and left comments. I have really enjoyed our conversations.
Thank you all again!
Ok now on to talking about what I have planned for the upcoming week and what not…. Continue reading “Silent Sunday Nights & 400+ Followers”
I’ve had a pretty busy week and I’m so glad it’s Friday now. I haven’t been able to do much reading, but I did somehow manage to start (and continue) reading 4 books this week.
➡ Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. A Reread and love it. I’m almost done with chapter 7 on my kindle. I’m reading the kindle edition while also listening to my iTunes audio. I think listening to the audio has helped me in just spending more time highlighting a lot of my favorite quotes in this book.
➡ You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me by Sarra Manning. About 40% left to read of this book.
➡ Northanger Abbey by Val McDermid. On page 239 of 368 pages. Almost done with this library book thank goodness.
➡ First Frost (Waverley Family, #2) by Sarah Addison Allen. I thought I’d wait a little in reading this book, but I just couldn’t help myself. I guess I do want to read what else is going on with these Waverleys sooner after all.
Thank you to my 300 Followers and everyone that’s stopped by to like or comment.
Now I’m not sure why WordPress hasn’t shown this 300 milestone, but it doesn’t matter. I’ve been having a lot of fun throughout the WordPress community.
It’s been a big surprise with how much attention I’ve received. I started blogging back in October and I’ve finally found a place where I can have topics and conversations with others about the things that I love. That has been the best about blogging here.
So thank you!
I started blogging here since October 2015. What started as a little place to post book reviews has expanded to movies and television stuff that I’ve watched. Blogging here has been fun. And I really like finding other blogger friends here.
I was not expecting so many people responding to my blog so quickly. Actually I don’t know what I was expecting, except a little nook to write reviews and such. So thank you to all for following me, liking my posts, and taking the time to read them and leave comments.
Silent Sunday Nights
TCM channel is airing a very old Silent Film tonight, one from 1918 called The Blue Bird. These oldies have become a sort of comfort film for me. Comfort movies being the ones that you go to when you have a flu or cold (like myself right now). Where you just want something that will calm you, and even remind you of when you were younger. Like Sheldon wanting people to sing him “Soft Kitty” whenever he’s sick, from the show The Big Bang Theory.
I’d like to think I’m not like Sheldon when I’m sick, but I do know that I get a little grumpy and act like I just want to crawl under my blankets and die sometimes. Especially with this head cold! I can’t take Antihistamines for too long, maybe for just a day when I’m sick, or else my nose will become infected and bleed. Plus these coughs kill me! Almost made me throw-up at one point last night. And last time I was this sick like this, I did. It’s the pits.
So that’s my night. I wanted to tell you more in this post, like my go to comfort films and books. But I’m ughhh… there’s times when I think I feel better, and then this huge sinus headache will come, or my coughs will just not stop. At least my nose stopped running. But then that was also when I knew that I had to stop taking some Antihistamines.
I’ll post my Best of Comfort Films and Books later this week. Probably add some stuff of the ones I watched and read while I’m sick right now.
For now, I’ll be watching some Hallmark movies and then it’s The Blue Bird for my nightcap.
And another Thank You to all those who have followed, liked, and commented on my blog.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.
2015 Blogging in Review
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,220 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 37 trips to carry that many people.

Oh… also WordPress did not mention that I’ve reached two blogging milestones in a few months.
Over 100 Followers
And over 1,000 Post Likes
So thank you readers for stopping by and checking out my blog. And a many thanks to those who have liked, commented, reblogged and tagged me.
I’ve been blogging for about two months now. I read a lot, and watch maybe too much tv and movies. But they are things that I enjoy doing so I don’t feel guilty about how much stuff I’m watching or reading.
I have been writing reviews on Amazon and Shelfari.com for a few years now (Amazon the longest). So making this blog has been both fun and helpful.
I wasn’t expecting so much positive feedback, and it’s been great. So this post is a little thank you for all my followers, and the people who’ve given me feedback on my posts (the likes and especially comments have been great).
I haven’t even finished posting my old reviews, and you can be sure that there will be some new stuff too. So stay tuned and thank you.
