My Throwback 90s Music Soundtrack
Making this list was really hard to do. The struggle was hard! I couldn’t limit myself to just 10 songs like my other soundtracks, but at least I didn’t exceed 15. I’m a Gen X gal and thinking up this list brought back a lot of nostalgia.
“Hunger Strike” by Temple of the Dog
Soundgaurdern and Pearl Jam together. Bliss.

Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets
Here’s another book soundtrack for you all. I’ve been rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and with that I’ve thought of making a little soundtrack from my music collection.
Black Dove by #ToriAmos
(🎧 “They don’t know that you’ve already lived on the other side of the Galaxy” 🎧) Such a magical song. Love Tori Amos too. 💗
#DeadSouls by #NineInchNails

My Throwback 90s Music
Last month I made a playlist of some of the 1980’s music that I listened to. I was going to do a list of all the music for the 1990’s too, but that decade is harder for me to put into one playlist. I have one playlist on my iTunes music but many playlists for the music from the 1990’s. It’s mostly because my music taste started to really expand due to my high school and community college years. So here is one of my playlist from the 1990’s.
Women in Music
Here’s some of my favorite female performers that I really liked during the 1990’s.
Because of Lilith Fair
Lilith Fair was a concert tour and travelling music festival, founded by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan, Nettwerk Music Group’s Dan Fraser and Terry McBride, and New York talent agent Marty Diamond. It took place during the summers of 1997 to 1999, and was revived in the summer of 2010. It consisted solely of female solo artists and female-led bands. In its initial three years, Lilith Fair raised over $10M for charity.
Water is Wide by Indigo Girls, Jewel and Sarah McLachlan
I was already a fan of a lot of these female music performers, and thanks to this festivals I found some other performers and bands to listen to.
Only Happy When it Rains by Garbage
This song is what made me a fan of this band, and they are still a favorite. Continue reading “My Throwback 90s Women in Music Soundtrack”
A Wednesday post of a few things I liked throughout the week.
Wazzup Tori Amos
On January 22, 2016, Tori Amos Tweeted that she will be remastering her 3rd album, Boys For Pele, for it’s 20th Anniversary. And in another tweet to go along with that announcement, added this statement:
“The newly #remastered #BoysForPele, released later this year, will include unreleased material + #bsides, club #remixes, & more. 🌟🎹🎉 #BFP20
– Tori Amos
Now I don’t think she’s forgotten about promising this remastered edition. She’s had posts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. But if you’ve been under a rock or oblivious of these media stuff like I have, then this is new. I didn’t realize that this was the 20th anniversary until this post on Tori’s Facebook page. In that post she reposted @NickKBlamo about how he snagged a Boys For Pele promo window board.
So now it’s been almost 3 months since the anniversary and I’m greatly anticipating these unreleased material for Boys For Pele. In the meantime, here’s a video from MTV’s Unplugged concert in 1996.
Wazzup Action Movies & Superheroes?
This year there is 8 Superhero movies that I know of that is being released in 2016 (2 of are already in theaters, 6 of them are Marvel or DC Comics).
That’s an awful lot to keep track of for this year, not to mention the other big movies that are being released. So here’s a list of those Superhero movies and others that have and will be released this year. (Plus I made another list on IMDb.com)
The DC Comics movies are:
- Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice
- Suicide Squad
Marvel movies are:

April has come and I am feeling like these times are being wasted away so far in 2016. Although the flu/ cold season didn’t help much. Plus I’ve got a pinched nerve in my shoulder from when I pulled a back shoulder muscle back in February, but I think it’s starting to get better. Well, I’m really hoping that it’s getting better, but I’ll be seeing a physical therapist soon so that’ll help for sure.
It seems that every time I think about how it’s April now I think of this song by Simon and Garfunkel, April Comes She Will. There’s something about the beginning of Spring and this type of music that stays with me, no matter what mood I’m in.
It’s been three months past so far and I feel like I haven’t accomplished that much in reading through my To-Be-Read list. The length of the list, along with all the books I own and haven’t read yet is a little intimidating right now because of my reading slump. But it’s April now and hopefully this will be a good month. My Throwback 80s Music
This is a soundtrack of some of the music that I loved from the 1980s.
Kids in America by Kim Wilde
Because I was a I kid when this song was released. In fact I was the same age as one of my nieces. I may be old but I’m still a kid at heart.
Only in my Dreams by Debbie Gibson
Yes I admit it. Debbie was one of my guilty pleasures. And I admit that I even had those weird hairdos.
