Book review 5 out of 5 Stars

I wasn’t a fan when the illustrated book for Sorcerer’s Stone was released. I thought that it was just another ripoff to make more money. Twenty-five dollars a book, this making $150 for the entire series! And we have to wait each year for the next book! I’m sure if it was released in one big bundle it would look like a ripoff for just another book copy of this series because there is other reprint editions too. I do like some of the editions now, but the prices are ridiculous for some of them. Continue reading “Harry Potter Illustrated Books”

Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets

Here’s another book soundtrack for you all. I’ve been rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and with that I’ve thought of making a little soundtrack from my music collection.

Black Dove by #ToriAmos

(🎧 “They don’t know that you’ve already lived on the other side of the Galaxy” 🎧) Such a magical song. Love Tori Amos too. πŸ’—

Throwback Thursday Reviews

A Thursday theme of mine here where I’ve been posting some of my old reviews.

This week is from a book I read and reviewed in January 2014.

Mr. Darcy Forever by Victoria Connelly

Mr Darcy Forever by Victoria Connelly

(Austen Addicts series: Book 3)

3 out of 5 stars β˜…

This is the third Austen Addicts book in the series. I read the previous book Dreaming of Mr. Darcy and liked it. I attempted at reading this in 2013. But I wasn’t enjoying it and decided to temporarily set it aside for later. I do have a habit of reading a chapter or two and then stopping to read something else. But I do try to get back to the book. Continue reading “Throwback Thursday Reviews May 2nd”

Throwback Thursday Reviews

A Thursday theme of mine here where I’ve been posting some of my old reviews.

This week is from a book I read and reviewed back in February 2014.

Getting Warmer by Carol Snow

Getting Warmer by Carol Snow

Getting Warmer in Arizona 4 out of 5 stars β˜…

Natalie Quakenbush is a quirky character. Even her last name is odd and is even picked on by her students behind her back (though she still knows about it). It’s a cute chick lit romance. It was just a little predictable. What I liked about this was that it centered more around the main character, Natalie. She’s 29 and fearing turning 30 (wasn’t so long ago I had those days, and my youngest sister just passed that. Made fun saying that she’s now 3 decades old). Throwback Thursday Reviews

A Thursday theme of mine here where I’ve been posting some of my old reviews.

This week’s review is from November 2013 (Amazon review). I read this book from my overdrive.com library’s kindle books. And because I like Simon Pegg, I also borrowed the overdrive audiobook too. In this case I read with both of them to see if the audiobook was indeed an abridged edition and what was left out.

Am I the only one that listens to the audiobooks while reading the book too (paperback or kindle, etc)?

Throwback Thursday

Another Thursday meme of mine so that I can post some Old Reviews.

Here is 3-ish book reviews for the Sunrise Keys trilogy by Suzanne Brockmann.

Kiss and Tell by Susanne Brockmann

Kiss and Tell, Sunrise Keys book 1

4 out of 5 Stars β˜…

Read and reviewed in June 2013.

I’ve read a lot of Suzanne’s older works and love them. This is about 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. It’s predictable and a little outdated. Marshall Devlin is a very likeable hero. I liked Leila Hunt just at times she can be so annoying. There constant fighting is a bit overboard. I thought it was only just cute that Marshall helped Leila find her New-Years-Kiss-Ninja.
