Since I’ve been following Turner Classic Movie channel more lately I have found some themes that I like. Last week was Memorial Weekend so they were showing some oldie war films. Gramps and I ended up catching some of the M.A.S.H. movie to rewatch before going to bed. Tonight, Silent Sunday Nights is back with a “Fatty” Arbuckle (aka William Goodrich) film from 1926, The Red Hill. (TCM, Facebook). Looks to be a good calming night.
I have been rereading the Harry Potter books because I’ve been in a reading slump. Now I think it’s about time I get started on my tbr so here is what I should be reading now…
ABC Family channel, or now known as Freeform, has a theme this week that went along with something I liked. Their theme for the week is Man Crush Movie Week. I have already been watching some YouTube videos with some of my favorite romantic scenes in movies. And now I can watch some of these movies too if I’d like.
Wednesday Night they aired The Lucky One. Now Zac Efron is pretty good looking in this movie, but I liked the dog Zues more.
So my Man Crush Movie Week for Wednesday night would be Snoopy, from the Peanuts Gang comics. Here’s some clips from the Peanuts Movie.
ABC Family channel, or now known as Freeform, has a theme this week that ended up going along with a post that I was going to do. Their theme for the week is Man Crush Movie Week.
Tonight they’re airing a strange mix of movies. First up was The Hunger Games, an action adventure movie with two lovely men. With Liam Hemsworth it’s hard to be Team Peeta. And after watching that action movie comes a Rom-Com starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal. And then for their late night movie is a high school Rom-Com called John Tucker Must Die.
I have been looking through some clips on YouTube of some of those romantic scenes in movies. Watching just those clips have been a little addicting.
So to go along with Man Crush Movie Week, here’s James McAvoy in the movie Penelope with Christina Ricci.
A Wednesday post here of all those neat things I noticed throughout this week.
So I’ve defended J. K. Rowling and her Harry Potter books since I first read the series back in 2002. Barnes and Noble’s blog post even has an article of “6 Things You Should Never Say to a Harry Potter Fan.” I like the new reprints of the books and wish I could get the Illustrated Sorcerer’s Stone (book 1 in HP series). But alas I already have two and a half editions to the series (the half is some of the European editions).
That illustrated book does look like fun stuff and I was thinking of getting this book. But…
Then I found this when I was looking through Barnes and Noble’s 100 Bestseller list, #3 is the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets illustrated edition. It’s release date is October 4, 2016. And in Pottermore.com there is a couple articles about the illustrated series. That’s right, I said series. Here’s the article with the “exclusive” look to book 2, and here’s the article about the book and the series.
“All seven of J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter books will be published for the first time in stunning full-colour editions, illustrated by the award-winning artist Jim Kay. The second in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, will publish in October 2016.”
