Harry Potter Chamber Secrets Soundtrack

Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets

Here’s another book soundtrack for you all. I’ve been rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and with that I’ve thought of making a little soundtrack from my music collection.

Black Dove by #ToriAmos

(๐ŸŽง “They don’t know that you’ve already lived on the other side of the Galaxy” ๐ŸŽง) Such a magical song. Love Tori Amos too. ๐Ÿ’—

Throwback Thursday Reviews

Another Thursday meme of mine so that I can post some Old Reviews.

Girl Scout Sleepover Double Feature Movies

I’m not sure what year at was exactly, sometime during the late 1980s I think. My sister and was apart of the Girl Scouts in elementary school and our group adult leader was a little strange. We had our first sleepover at that time too. The adult let her kid pick out one of the movies, A Nightmare in Elm Street. ย The other movie was not much better of a pick for 8 year olds and older (I was the older). The leader picked The Three Amigosย (my favorite quotes and some YouTube video favorites bellow because I rewatched this today).

I suppose after watching a horror movie, the comedy was much needed, well mostly for me. While everyone was watching A Nightmare on Elm Street, I was hiding behind the couches because I was so scared. That movie gave me nightmares for weeks after this. This scene still gives me the creeps:

Top 5 Wednesday

My secondย Top 5 Wednesday topics from the Goodreads group. Iโ€™ve seen and joined that Goodreads group for some time now. The topics in April looked pretty good. I really liked this topic. And since I already liked to make lists, these 5 every week shouldnโ€™t be too difficult for me. Maybe..

A Tribute to My Childhood Book Moms

Mrs Dashwood of Jane Austen

Mrs. Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. She was my first Jane Austen book mother and still my favorite. And I loved the actress that played her in the 1995 movie (my review to the movie/ book).

โ€œI do not believe,” said Mrs. Dashwood, with a good humoured smile, “that Mr. Willoughby will be incommoded by the attempts of either of MY daughters towards what you call CATCHING him. It is not an employment to which they have been brought up. Men are very safe with us, let them be ever so rich.โ€

Ramona and Her Mother by Beverly Cleary

Mrs. Quimby from Ramona and Her Mother by Beverly Cleary (and all the other Romana books in the series). That dear pest Ramona. I loved this series. (My review).

โ€œAll her life she had wanted to squeeze the toothpaste really squeeze it,not just one little squirt…The paste coiled and swirled and mounded in the washbasin. Ramona decorated the mound with toothpaste roses as if it was a toothpaste birthday cakeโ€

TCM Silent Sunday Nights apr2016

Silent Sunday Nights

TCM channel airs Silent Films on their Sunday Silent Nights theme. Tonight they’re showing a classic with Joan Crawford from 1928 called Across to Singaporeย (that’s Joan on the title picture).

It’s a good film. According to Gramps, Joan Crawford was in a lot of Silent Films before she starred in those “Talkie” movies. I’m currently watching Across to Singapore while having my late night desert. I picked up one of those small containers to restrict myself with the amount of ice cream I eat. So far it worked. Now off to finish the last of it.

Silent Sunday Nights and Haagen-Dazs

Also, this is April’s last Silent Sunday, and I feel like I still have some catching up to do on my reading, reviews and blog posts. It’s also making me feel a little overwhelmed, so it’s a good thing I have these nights to help calm myself.

So that’s my Sunday night relaxation time. What’s yours?
