“But you would think, wouldn’t you,” he erupted suddenly, pulling the letter back out of his pocket, “that getting hit forty-five times in the neck with a blunt axe would qualify you to join the Headless Hunt?” – Nearly Headless Nick. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Ahh Tuesday. Here we go. The TBR Tuesday time. But a little different this time. Continue reading “TBR Tuesday June 21st”
This has been a fun bookish meme where we find a quote from page 56, and the books I’ve chosen have all been my current reads (or such). This is a Friday meme started by Freda @Freda’s Voice.

Top 5 Wednesday
My Top 5 Wednesday topics from the Goodreads group. I started this in April because I liked the group’s topics for Top 5 favorites.
There was a book festival last month that I wish that I could have gone to. The event had a lot of artists and celebrities as guests, from books, food, music and more. Maybe next year I’ll go. Here’s 5 people I wish I could’ve meet this year:
Irish author who wrote P.S. I Love You, Where Rainbows End (aka Love, Rosie), as well as other Adult Contemporary books. Her latest book is her first attempt to Young Adult fiction called Flawed. I received the hardcover edition from the April’s Owl Crate subscription (my first). I’m looking forward to reading it.

Another Tuesday meme of mine here. I was too busy yesterday to post my Monday Mayhem meme. And today I have just been relaxing. Getting things done today is a little difficult, especially with a dog snoring on your lap, though she is keeping my legs warm.
So enough procrastinating. Here’s my Tuesday book list.
What I’m already reading (and if course there is more than 1 book):
Now as you may already know, I have been currently reading Harry Potter and the Scorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling for the umpteenth time for a read-along I am hosting. Well the reading has gotten too slow for me to read and listen to the audiobook, so I’m just reading the book (with the movie score soundtrack in the background).
What some of you may not know is that I can’t help reading more than one book at a time. So here’s what I am also reading – First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen. The beginning of this book was a little slow, but now it’s picked up and I’m liking the story now. Continue reading “TBR Tuesday Apr 26th”
The Book Courtship Tag
A Book and Two Cups of Tea tagged me for this, sorry it’s taken so long to get to it.
Phase 1: Initial Attraction. A book that you bought because of the cover?
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.
I got the Candlewick; Reprint edition (September 27, 2011) Kindle edition back in September of 2015. I thought this would be the perfect October read. It turned out to be more than just a great October mood read. Loved the graphics and that’s why I bought this copy.
Phase 2: First Impressions. A book that you got because of the summary?
There was two books where I liked the summary, but then realized that I was tricked!!!: The Next Best Thing (Gideon’s Cove #2) by Kristan Higgins and Fools Rush In by Kristan Higgins. Notice that they’re both by Kristan Higgins?
CAUTION: Don’t be duped (like I was) by these summaries. Continue reading “The Book Courtship Tag”
Harry Potter Read-Along (or Watch-Along)
On Tuesday’s TBR post, I announced that I was going to start a Harry Potter Read-Along. Today is the beginning of that event. How long will this event last? Well, I’m hoping that it would be about a week, and to do at least one or so of the books and movies (I read slow because life gets in the way).
You can follow my reading progress (and others) through Social Media: Twitter
#HarryPotterReadAlong #MichelleBookAddict (and also there’s #ReadtheMagic)
First, what book or movie are you currently working on reading right now? Is this your first time reading or watching this series?
I’m actually working on re-reading the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I have also re-watched the first seen of the movie (same title).
I have read and watched this movie countless times already, and yet I still enjoy them.
(You don’t have to read or watch the first book like I am if you have already read or watched this series. Feel free to jump to whichever book.)
Tell us the First Lines of the book (and/ or the First Scene of the movie). Tell us what you think so far of this beginning.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling. Chapter One, The Boy Who Lived.
“Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.”
I just love this beginning. The descriptions of exactly what sort of people the Dursley‘s are is great. I do wish they had some of that in the movie, but we only got to hear this part from Professor Minerva McGonagall point of view. There is even bits where we get to really know about the excitement about You-Know-Who finally being gone. Continue reading “Harry Potter Read-Along: The Beginnings”
